Problem:
Nowadays, a lot of people are turning to YouTube as a way to find their information and news. However, Youtube is set up primarily to be a social platform, instead of a resource like Google.
Through a simple browser extension, our solution inserts credibility signals, like a third-party description of a channel and number of citations, into the YouTube search results page. Instead of trying to fix misinformation after it has spread with a band-aid, our tool aims to proactively give users the agency to find credible information themselves and weed out the bad apples before watching a video.
